NVIDIA GPU infrastructure

Most production-grade AI workloads today run on NVIDIA GPU hardware — whether through cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, or on dedicated on-premise clusters. NVIDIA's CUDA ecosystem underpins the training and inference pipelines behind the large language models and computer vision systems that teams typically explore in pilots.

When we scope a pilot, one of our first questions is where compute will come from and what it will cost. A pilot that requires a dedicated A100 cluster has a very different resource profile from one that runs on a managed API endpoint. We help teams understand that difference early, so the budget conversation happens before sprint work starts, not halfway through.

Cortex Bay does not resell NVIDIA hardware, cloud GPU capacity, or any AI model API. We have no referral relationship with any infrastructure or model provider. When we mention NVIDIA, OpenAI, or any other platform in a scoping brief, it is because that option fits the team's situation — not because we have a commercial reason to recommend it. That independence is one of the things our clients find most useful.

What does a Pilot Scoping Session actually involve?

We spend a structured session with your team — typically two to three hours — working through the question you want the pilot to answer, the data you have available, how you would measure a useful outcome, and what a reasonable scope looks like. Afterward we produce a one-page scoping brief and a short risk list.

Who should be in the room for a Guided Pilot Sprint?

Cross-functional teams tend to get the most from the sprint format. That means someone who owns the business problem, someone who understands the data, and, if possible, someone from IT or engineering. We adapt our facilitation to the size and composition of your group.

Do we need technical expertise before we begin?

No. Our facilitation is designed for teams at various levels of AI familiarity. We explain concepts in plain language and focus on practical decision-making rather than technical depth. If your team already has technical members, we work alongside them rather than replacing their judgement.

How long does each engagement take?

The Pilot Scoping Session is a single session with follow-up documentation, typically completed within a week. The Guided Pilot Sprint runs over four weeks with weekly check-ins. The Pilot-to-Production Advisory is a three-month engagement with periodic reviews at agreed milestones.

What if our pilot does not succeed?

A negative result is still a useful result. Part of good pilot facilitation is structuring the work so that a "no" answer is informative rather than wasted effort. We help teams document what they learned and what that means for next steps, whether that is a redesigned pilot or a decision to pause the direction entirely.

Is there an option to move from one service tier to the next?

Yes. Many teams begin with a Scoping Session and, if the brief looks promising, proceed into a Guided Sprint. The scoping brief produced in the first engagement carries directly into the sprint plan, so no work is repeated. Similarly, a team finishing a sprint can move into the advisory engagement if the results support moving forward.

How are sessions conducted — in-person or remotely?

We are based in Kuala Lumpur and can meet in person for clients in the Klang Valley. For teams elsewhere in Malaysia, all sessions are available via video call. Most check-ins and reviews during the sprint and advisory engagements are conducted remotely for convenience.
